About Little Bear Woods
The Bear Adventure
Little Bear Woods is a small, friendly outdoor woodland environment to encourage young children to respect, love and develop as learners.
It’s a place to think freely and self-learn. It is a place for everyone.
At Little Bear Woods you will discover your limits and most importantly make memories to last a lifetime.
From identifying trees and story time around the wooden circle, to mud kitchens, creating nature patterns, learning new tools, safety and fires and swinging in trees.
There is a world every child deserves to discover.
I am Kelly Berryman a primary school teacher and I’ve worked in schools for over 7 years. I trained at Chichester University and have been lucky to work with children at different ages and from a variety of backgrounds, cultures and needs.
I am qualified as a Level 3 Forest School Leader, First Aid Qualified and I have taken part in outdoor Makaton signing.
I have two little bears of my own and I know how much they love exploring outside. So eager to learn and asking plenty of questions!
My love for outdoor learning began when I chose to specialise in early years and I have continually used the environment to inspire young children. This is now my dream and I’m sure you’ll see my passion for outdoor learning when you come and visit us at Little Bear Woods.
What We Do
Sessions are outdoors in the natural environment. Sometimes they will be themed and have an element of structure, but mostly they will be led by the child who chooses how to develop their own learning.
With the use of natural resources, puppets and books all linked to outdoors I encourage an experience that’s fun, exciting, eye-opening and engaging for all children.
Come and discover the outdoor adventure. I Hope you’ll join us as we get excited about the new Little Bear Woods!
